Christchurch demolition cellphone timelapse
Following the series of earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, many buildings in Christchurch's CBD had to be demolished. This basic timelapse video was created by taking a daily photo from my office building with my cell phone from May to December 2012 (apart from a few missed days and a two week holiday). Technical quality isn't great but maybe of general interest. The prominent building in the video is Clarendon Tower.
In the middle of the frame is the BNZ building (covered in orange netting) which starts to be demolished at 10.00 secs. To the left of Clarendon Tower is the West facade of the Grant Thornton building which is quickly brought down at 29.00 secs. To the right of the frame in the background are the Westpac building and the Holiday Inn, both of which are demolished towards the end of the video.
